Fancy spending a season in the mountains this winter? Rent a room alone, or with two or three friends for the whole winter in our seasonnaire home Chalet Le Nantégué.
Night time
There is plenty to do in Morzine at night from a relaxing meal in one of the many restaurants to a wild all night party in the bars and clubs.
Bars
There are a variety of bars in Morzine, catering for all tastes. If its apres ski you want, the Crepu and Bar Robinson, (where you can drink the infamous Mutzig) are popular straight from the mountain. Dixie bar also often has live music on in the early evening, pool tables and shows all the sport. The Buddha Bar is another popular choice close to the Pleney lift with a lively atmosphere and music.
The bars are open until 2am with the exception of Bar Robinson which closes at 7.30pm so you can stay out all night or if you’re slightly more restrained ,go home for dinner before venturing back out. Good late night bars include Dixie’s, The Garage, Bowling Bar, Buddha Bar, Crepu and if its dancing you want The Cavern’s the spot with its dancefloor, themed nights and DJ’s . Keep your eyes open for happy hours and drink specials.
Clubs
There are 2 clubs in Morzine, Opera in the centre of town or Paradis. Both of them are open till 5 am but are both very expensive (8€ a pint!!). Music varies depending on the night you go but they are generally well advertised around town.
Restaurants
Morzine has many restaurants, ranging from the more expensive La Grange to the reasonable L’Etale, which also does the biggest food portions in the world. Most of the restaurants feature traditional meals of the region, consisting of cheese, dried meats and potatoes and are all well worth a try. There are also more standard meals on offer too, if your not up for cheese everynight, such as steak, fish and salads.
There are even burger bars and curry houses if you fancy a quick snack and several places that do take away pizzas or home delivery if you fancy eating in.
Other Stuff
- Live music either in bars or in the centre of town
- There’s also loads on in the evening about town. There are twice weekly ice hockey matches which are well worth watching at the Palais de Sport, or there’s public ice skating on their nights off.
- There’s night skiing on pleney, skidooing trips at Pras de Lys or tobagganing too.
- There are also English films shown at the cinemas twice a week.
Quiet nights
If you fancy a more chilled night after a hard days riding then there’s a video shop in town if your french is up to it or DVD’s are available often in English.
